Recognition of your qualifications.

The German labour market needs qualified specialists - and your professional qualifications from abroad can play an important role in this. Recognising your qualifications brings numerous advantages for you and is the key to being able to work in Germany legally and with equal rights.

How it works

We submit your existing certificates and documents for official recognition, advocating on your behalf. All you have to do is submit the necessary information once.

The authorities then assess whether your qualifications are comparable to a German degree or vocational training.

What it means

If recognized, your university degree or vocational training holds the same value in Germany as in your home country. This grants you the status of a ‘qualified professional’ (“qualifizierte Fachkraft”) under the German Residence Act.

The recognition puts you on equal footing with those who completed their education in Germany, giving you access to top job opportunities.

Just as if you had lived in Germany your entire life.

Successful recognition is the biggest milestone towards your new job in Germany. After that, all you have to do is attend an appointment at the German embassy in your home country. There you will receive your official residence permit, with which you can

  • enter Germany

  • start working

  • live and work in Germany permanently.

Recognition of your qualifications is therefore not just a professional advantage - it is the start of a new life in Germany.
